The establishment of a large-scale joint logistics center would help Russia and Kyrgyzstan remove trade barriers and strengthen economic ties. This was stated by Artyom Novikov, Chairman of the Russia–Kyrgyzstan Development Fund, during the Russia–Kyrgyzstan business dialogue held at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
“We’ve analyzed key sectors where the Fund can play a role, and logistics clearly stands out. We’re not just talking about building warehouses or transport hubs—those are already underway. We need to think bigger and create a joint multifunctional logistics center that incorporates Russian technical regulation systems, as well as accredited labs from agencies like Rospotrebnadzor and Rosselkhoznadzor,” Novikov explained.
He noted that trade turnover between Russia and Kyrgyzstan reached a record $3.5 billion in 2024. “But it’s already clear these figures fall short of the true potential between our countries,” he added.
