Russia–Kyrgyzstan Trade Turnover Up Over 17% in Early 2025

02 July

Trade between Russia and Kyrgyzstan has grown by more than 17% in the first five months of 2025, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced during a meeting with his Kyrgyz counterpart, Sadyr Japarov.

“Last year, trade volume rose by over 11%, and in just the first four months of this year, we've added another 17%,” Putin said. “It's clear that we're achieving the results we’ve been aiming for.”

The Russian president emphasized that Russia remains one of Kyrgyzstan’s key economic and trade partners, with promising plans for the future.

He also highlighted the role of a joint investment fund that continues to support a number of projects critical to Kyrgyzstan’s economic development.

Russia and Kyrgyzstan maintain strong and friendly ties and are both members of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). In 2024, trade between the two nations totaled $3.5 billion, with both sides targeting a $5 billion milestone in 2025.
