Russian Ambassador Highlights Readiness to Boost Agricultural Exports to Indonesia

Russia is prepared to increase exports of agricultural products and petroleum products to Indonesia, according to Russian Ambassador to Jakarta Sergey Tolchenov. In an article published in the Indonesian newspaper Kompas, marking 75 years of diplomatic ties between the two nations, Tolchenov emphasized growing trade cooperation.

 

"In bilateral trade, we are seeing positive trends. Russia is ready to expand the supply of agricultural goods as well as petroleum products to support Indonesia’s energy security," Tolchenov wrote.

 

He also expressed optimism about elevating bilateral relations to a strategic partnership, citing key areas for future cooperation such as nuclear energy, shipping, and information and communication technology. "We hope this year will bring new high-level interactions and achievements in economic, security, humanitarian, and cultural collaboration," he added.

 

Tolchenov underscored the strong and friendly ties between Russia and Indonesia, expressing confidence that these relations would continue to grow and strengthen.

 

Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on February 3, 1950.
