Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency has granted airlines permission to operate regular passenger and cargo flights from Sochi to Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, according to an official order published by the agency.
The order specifies that Azimuth Airlines has been cleared to operate daily flights between Sochi and Ras Al Khaimah, while IrAero has received approval to operate daily service between Sochi and Sharjah.
Sochi’s V.I. Sevastyanov International Airport has ranked among the top five airports in Russia for passenger traffic since 2020, handling more than 13 million travelers annually. Since the introduction of airspace restrictions in 2022, Sochi has become Russia’s main international air hub in the south, as it remains the only operational airport among the four in the Krasnodar Territory.
