Russia plans to expand the network of trade missions in African countries against the background of Western sanctions, Vladimir Padalko, Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, told TASS on Saturday following a meeting on supporting Russian organizations to enter African markets.
"During the meeting, the participants voiced a proposal to expand the network of trade missions in Africa in priority countries for trade. It was agreed that the Ministry of Industry and Trade would work on this issue together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economic Development," he said.
Padalko cited the data of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, which show that now in Africa there are four Russian trade missions - in Morocco, Algeria, Egypt and South Africa.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation pointed out that in the Russian expert community "there is an opinion that fruits, tea and coffee from the European Union countries can be replaced by products from Africa".
