12 August

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin and Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Moscow, Abdulrahman bin Suleiman Al‑Ahmed—who is completing his diplomatic mission—have emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral trade and economic cooperation, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“During the meeting, both sides gave a positive assessment of the current level of Russia–Saudi interaction. They expressed a shared view on the need for the further steady development of the entire range of traditionally friendly bilateral relations, including the expansion of trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties. The importance of continued close coordination within the UN and other international organizations was also underscored,” the ministry noted.

Vershinin thanked Al‑Ahmed for his contribution to advancing Russia–Saudi relations. “For his part, the Saudi ambassador expressed gratitude for the attention and support he received during his work in Russia,” the statement added.
