Flights to Sharjah have launched from Sochi Airport, the air hub's press service said Friday.
"Sochi International Airport announces the expansion of the route network together with Rossiya airline. For the first time in the airport's history, a Sochi-Shardjah flight has been launched," the published statement reads.
Scheduled flights are carried out by the Rossiya airline company (part of the Aeroflot group). The flights will be operated by Russian-made Sukhoi Superjet aircraft. The total number of seats on board is 87, of which 12 in business class and 75 in economy class.
There have been no flights to Sharjah from Sochi before, it is a new destination for the Sochi Airport.
Regular flights will be performed four times a week. Travel time from Sochi to Sharjah is 3 hours 45 minutes. The return flight will take 3 hours 55 minutes.
