Producers from Stavropol Krai began exporting their goods to three African countries for the first time in 2025, regional Economic Development Minister Anton Doronin said at a press conference at the TASS Caucasus information center.
“For the first time in our history, we have started exporting to Liberia and Tanzania, and Benin has also been added,” he said. “We are exporting bottled water and poultry meat. Africa is a continent with a huge market, and right now it is very important to enter it through countries like Kenya and Tanzania, which serve as logistics hubs.”
Doronin noted that products from the region are now supplied to 83 countries. “Over the past two or three years, the structure of the economy has changed, and of course this has affected exports — but, one could say, only in a positive way. Stavropol Krai now exports to 83 countries, compared with around 70 last year,” he explained.
According to the ministry, the region’s main importers include Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Belarus.
