Suez Canal Authority Hopes to Sign Partnership Agreement With Russia

04 August

The Suez Canal authority expressed hope for establishing a partnership agreement with Russia, according to a statement by the waterway's chairman Osama Rabie to RIA Novosti.

"Currently, there is no partnership between Russia and the Suez Canal itself, though there is cooperation with the Suez Canal Economic Zone east of Port Said," Rabie said in response to questions about potential collaboration. "We hope to establish such a partnership," he added.

The canal administrator emphasized that the Authority maintains equal treatment toward all nations, stressing that the Suez Canal remains free from political considerations.
