The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) has become the largest oil transportation project with the participation of Kazakhstan and Russia over the years of its existence, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said on Tuesday at a ceremonial meeting of the CPC participants in honor of the 25th anniversary of the signing of the shareholders agreement.

"The consortium has become the largest international oil transportation project with the participation of Kazakhstan and Russia, as well as the leading oil companies Chevron, Eni, Shell and others," he said.

According to him, the launch of the CPC gave an impetus to the development of the Tengiz, Karachaganak and Kashagan fields. "Today they account for 60 percent of the country's oil production," the head of state noted.
