Tokayev instructed to introduce state regulation of prices of socially important food products

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to introduce state regulation of prices of socially important food products. This was reported by his press service on Wednesday following the meeting of the government.


"To introduce state price regulation for socially important food products. The decision will be taken by the akims [heads - TASS] of the regions, based on the socio-economic situation in a particular region," informed the press service.


"To consider the need to introduce a moratorium on the increase of utility tariffs for the population for 180 days," the statement said.


Tokayev also ordered to establish a public foundation "For the People of Kazakhstan" to solve the problems of health care and children. In addition, he instructed to consider the issue of subsidizing the rent of secondary housing for socially vulnerable segments of the population and to begin development of the law "On bankruptcy of individuals".


The President of Kazakhstan said that the political and socio-economic structure of Kazakhstan will not change. "The head of state stressed that the political, social and economic structure of our state will remain unchanged. According to his conviction, such principles as unitarity, the rule of law, respect for the right of property and market economy remain the main principles in our state policy," Tokayev said.
