The events in the Middle East pose a direct threat to the global food supply chain, according to Tanju Bilgiç, the Turkish Ambassador to Russia.
"We are living through difficult times, particularly in the Middle East, which could have a negative impact on the global food supply," the diplomat stated during an event observing the International Day of Zero Waste.
The ambassador also highlighted that the 31st session of the UN Climate Change Conference, scheduled to take place in Antalya from November 9–20, 2026, "will serve as a key platform for strengthening the goals of the Paris Agreement."
"We express our sincere appreciation to all the countries supporting Turkey’s candidacy, with special thanks to the Russian Federation for its constructive cooperation. The transition to a zero-waste future is an opportunity to rethink our relationship with the environment. Let us work together to ensure a sustainable and inclusive future for all," he concluded.
