UAE and EAEU Agree to Boost Trade and Investment

14 November

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) have agreed to strengthen trade and investment cooperation, announced UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi.

“During my visit to Moscow in September for discussions with Andrey Slepnev, the Minister for Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission, we reached an agreement to expand trade and increase investments, and reaffirmed our commitment to finalizing a comprehensive economic partnership agreement,” Al Zeyoudi stated at the “World of Opportunities” forum in Dubai.

In recent years, the UAE has signed over ten comprehensive economic partnership agreements, including those with Israel, India, Indonesia, Kenya, and Turkey. Al Zeyoudi mentioned earlier this year that the UAE aims to secure a similar agreement with the EAEU by the end of 2024.

The EAEU is an international economic integration organization comprising Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. Observer status has been granted to Cuba, Moldova, and Uzbekistan.
