UAE and Moscow Foster Mutual Exchange on Special Economic Zones

08 October

Authorities from Moscow and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are deepening their mutual exchange of expertise concerning technoparks and Special Economic Zones (SEZs) to attract foreign investment. This was stated by Khalid Al Marzooqi, Vice-President of the Khalifa Economic Zone in Abu Dhabi (KEZAD), during the Moscow Investment and Industrial Forum.

“It is a great honor for us to cooperate with Moscow's Special Economic Zones; we have already established close relationships and collaboration with most of the SEZs, as well as with technoparks,” said Al Marzooqi. “Moscow can place its full trust in us regarding the operation of residencies and the growth and dynamics of companies. We are also doing everything possible to facilitate the exchange of information. Both countries should be involved in this.”

According to him, UAE authorities maintain close ties with Moscow's associations and technoparks. “We have already implemented several joint projects, and this is the foundation of our cooperation and partnership,” Al Marzooqi noted. “<...> We have a Russian team and host companies that are residents. We will do everything to keep these Russian companies afloat and help them move forward.”

The first Moscow Investment and Industrial Forum has brought together key industry players to discuss industrial development and investment. Participants are addressing topics such as an industrial leap forward, mechanisms for investment support, Moscow's role in technological advancement, and partnerships with friendly nations.
