Last year, large supermarkets in Dubai sold more than 7 tons of food products from the Moscow region within one month, the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Science of the Moscow region told TASS.
"Thanks to the new comprehensive program of exporters' support, a trial batch of food products from the Moscow region was placed on the shelves of large supermarkets in Dubai in November - December last year. All food products, totaling 7.6 tons, were sold out in record time," said Ekaterina Zinovieva, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Investment, Industry and Science of the Moscow region.
According to her, five Moscow Region companies participated in the pilot program for comprehensive export support last October, which included forming SME export containers, transportation, and retail placement. Assisted by Mininvest, the Moscow Region Export Support Center, and the Fesco transport group, these companies successfully delivered their goods to the United Arab Emirates as part of the "SME Container" service. Prearranged agreements facilitated the placement of these products on the shelves of retail chains, resulting in a complete sell-out within nearly a month.
"We can confidently affirm the effectiveness of our 'pilot' and are gearing up for new listings. We're planning to ramp up supplies to the UAE and broaden our reach to include Saudi Arabia and China," emphasized the deputy chairwoman.
