The Russian company Uralchem in cooperation with Kazakh and Uzbek partners has created a joint venture to produce fertilizers. The investment amount is estimated at $1.5 billion, Rakhim Azimov, State Duma Deputy, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Security and Counteraction to Corruption, and coordinator of the deputy group for relations with the parliament of the Republic of Uzbekistan, said on Friday.
"A promising project currently being worked on is the creation of a joint venture, it has already been established. The companies are Russian Uralchem, Kazakhstan's Kazakhmys and Uzbekistan's Uzbekchemia. The total investment is estimated at $1.5 billion. And the tonnage effect of the project by 2028 could be 7 million tons of fertilizer and 600 thousand tons of ammonia," Azimov said at a joint session of the State Duma deputy group on relations with the parliament of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the inter-parliamentary group of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan on cooperation with the State Duma in Kazan.
