Deputy Prime Ministers of Uzbekistan and Russia discuss investment projects worth $5.8 billion

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexey Overchuk discussed the implementation of 104 investment projects in the field of industrial cooperation totaling $5.8 billion at talks in Tashkent on September 15. This was reported on Wednesday by the press service of the Uzbek Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade.

 

 

"Issues of coordination and practical implementation of joint projects were discussed - in Uzbekistan, 104 investment projects in the field of industrial cooperation worth $5.8 billion are currently under development, focused on the production of high - value-added products in the territories of both countries," the report says. It is noted that in just eight months of this year, 209 Uzbek-Russian enterprises were created in Uzbekistan, and in total, 2 thousand enterprises with Russian capital are operating in the Republic.

 

 

It is also reported that the Deputy Prime Ministers discussed preparations for the visit of the head of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Russia. In this regard, the parties discussed practical issues of organizing and holding a number of joint events, including the II forum of interregional cooperation, educational and media forums, the opening of an exhibition and cultural center on the territory of VDNH in Moscow and the national exhibition Made in Uzbekistan.

According to the press service, the parties during the talks noted the need to intensify cooperation in developing mechanisms for the systematization of labor migration, which will be aimed at protecting the rights and interests of migrants, improving the conditions of their stay and work on the territory of the Russian Federation.
