The first direct exports of wheat from Adygea, which were carried out by agricultural enterprises of the republic in 10 months of 2021, amounted to $8 million, Head of the Export Support Center Aliy Dedukhov told TASS.

"Companies opened in the republic in 2021, which for the first time began to export wheat from Adygea directly and at a serious pace, that is, the product immediately took one of the top levels in terms of export volumes. In 10 months - from January to October - the supplies were about $8 million," he said.

Wheat and barley grown in Adygea were exported mainly to Turkey and the Middle East.

"Adygeya is predominantly an agricultural republic, which has exported wheat of the highest grade before. This was done through traders in the regions of Southern Russia - Krasnodar, Rostov region, Stavropol. However, direct supplies are more profitable for agricultural producers. And for us, as an institution that supports export in the region, direct exporters are very important," added the interlocutor.

According to the Federal Customs Service, the volume of exports of agro-industrial products in 2021 increased by 70% compared to 2020 and amounted to $ 19.3 million. The largest volume of agricultural exports - about 65% - were cereals, wheat, barley, corn, rice and sunflower oil.
