The number of resident companies in the joint Russian-Uzbek industrial parks is growing, with over 30 now operating in Chirchik and Jizzakh. This was stated by Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov at a meeting of the Russian-Uzbek intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.
"The number of resident companies in our joint industrial parks is increasing. In Chirchik and Jizzakh, there are already over thirty in total, from different countries around the world," he said.
Manturov noted that, through industrial partnership, the countries are enhancing cooperation both in terms of mutual supplies of industrial products and in the localization of Russian enterprises in Uzbekistan.
For instance, among recent examples of successful investment projects, the first deputy prime minister highlighted the launch of production for a Russian company's thermal insulation materials in the Tashkent region at the end of April. The volume of capital investment amounted to over 1.3 billion rubles.
"The established joint investment platform should give impetus to the development of partnership. Today we have agreed on a number of changes that will serve to expand the capabilities of this tool," he said.
