Iranian President to Discuss Palestine in Meeting with Putin

07 December 2023

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi mentioned that one of the topics of discussion during his working visit to Moscow will be Palestine, as reported by the ISNA news agency.

"One of the central issues on this trip is the Palestinian matter and the endeavors to cease the bombardment of the Gaza Strip, lift the blockade, and assist the oppressed Palestinian people," the president stated.

In addition, Putin and Raisi will discuss the establishment of the North-South international transportation corridor.

As reported earlier by IRNA, the Iranian president has already left for Moscow at the head of a representative delegation, accompanied by Oil Minister Javad Owji.

According to the Kremlin press service, the presidents will discuss transportation, energy, and joint projects in trade and the economy. Russian presidential aide for international affairs Yuri Ushakov added that Putin and Raisi will hold talks in the presence of members of the delegations and then have a working lunch.

The last meeting between Vladimir Putin and Raisi was on the margins of the SCO summit in Samarkand last September. During the meeting, they discussed the development of a new comprehensive treaty between the two countries and explored prospects for cooperation.
