Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdel Latif bin Rashid al-Zayani held a telephone discussion on key Middle East topics.
"During the exchange of views, a thorough discussion on key Middle East topics was conducted, focusing on the ongoing tensions in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone, as well as the escalation of the situation in the Red Sea and surrounding waters," the Russian foreign ministry stated in the message.
The foreign ministers of Russia and Bahrain also emphasized the importance of international community efforts to swiftly create the necessary conditions for reducing tensions in this strategically vital region. They discussed the establishment of a reliable system of collective security based on principles of mutual respect and good neighborliness. Additionally, the ministers exchanged views on other regional issues and discussed practical matters related to further enhancing the multifaceted Russian-Bahraini relations.
