Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov highlighted the alignment of perspectives between Russia and Latin American and Caribbean countries regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip and the broader Middle East.
"We are aware that at the initiative of Venezuela, the ALBA (Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas, ALBA - TASS) group issued a statement just today regarding the developments in the Gaza Strip and the Middle East. We observe almost complete alignment of our approaches," the minister stated during the opening of discussions with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil Pinto.
Furthermore, the Russian foreign minister highlighted Moscow's acknowledgment of Caracas' active role in bolstering integration processes in Latin America and the Caribbean. "We appreciate your efforts in fostering the development of relations between the Russian Federation and the Latin American region," Lavrov emphasized.
