Russian Foreign intelligence service (SVR) director Sergei Naryshkin discussed the fight against international terrorism and interagency cooperation with US CIA chief William Burns at a meeting in Moscow, the SVR reported on Wednesday.

Naryshkin met with the CIA head on November 2 at the initiative of the American side. "The focus was on issues of interagency cooperation in the context of Russian-American relations with a focus on the fight against international terrorism," the statement said.

The director of the Central intelligence agency is on a two-day visit (November 2-3) to Moscow on behalf of US President Joe Biden with a delegation of US representatives.

The press service of the Russian Security council's office earlier reported that Russian Security council secretary Nikolai Patrushev met with Burns on Tuesday. The two sides discussed relations between Moscow and Washington.

Burns served as US ambassador to Russia from 2005 to 2008. In March of this year, he was confirmed as CIA director, becoming the first career diplomat in this position in the history of the United States.
