Putin Appoints Russian Ambassadors to Gabon and Congo

Russian President Vladimir Putin has recently signed decrees to appoint ambassadors to the Republic of Gabon and the Republic of Congo. The details of these appointments have been officially published on the legal information portal.

 

Dmitry Korepanov, formerly the Head of Division in the Department of Africa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, has been appointed as ambassador to Gabon. Meanwhile, Ilyas Iskandarov, who previously served as Russia's ambassador to Gabon since 2020, will now assume the role of ambassador to Congo.

 

In a separate decree, President Putin has relieved Georgy Chepik of his duties as ambassador to the Republic of Congo. Chepik had held this position since 2019.
