Putin Reiterates Russia's Support for the Establishment of a Palestinian State

Russia has consistently supported the implementation of the UN Security Council decision regarding the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, as emphasized by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a plenary session at the Russian Energy Week.

"We have always advocated the implementation of UN Security Council decisions, particularly the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. This is the fundamental issue underlying all the challenges," Putin stated.

He also emphasized that Russia's stance on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict has been consistent and formed over the course of many decades. "This position is well-known to both the Israeli authorities and our Palestinian friends," added the Russian president.

He pointed out that the Palestinian-Israeli issue has been further complicated by the mediation efforts of various countries in recent years. However, there are political leaders and experts in these nations, as well as in Israel, who advocate the path of establishing an independent state. "Yet, the prevailing influence has been in favor of those who have sought to resolve this issue through force for decades. Unfortunately, this has led to the tragic events we are currently witnessing," Putin noted.
