Moscow and Baku are in the process of arranging new discussions regarding the presence of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh and the repatriation of the Armenian population in the region, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said during a briefing.
"We are actively preparing for the next round of Russian-Azerbaijani consultations, which will focus on the specifics of the Russian peacekeeping force's presence in Karabakh. Our dialogue in this area is marked by regularity and is conducted in a constructive spirit. The key topics of our discussions include the safe and orderly return of the Armenian population to Karabakh, ensuring their rights and security, organizing joint patrols, and safeguarding cultural-historical and religious heritage monuments," the diplomat noted.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin had stressed in an interview with TASS that, given the significant changes in the situation in Karabakh, discussions about the conditions for the Russian peacekeepers' presence are solely conducted with the Azerbaijani authorities.
