The Secretaries of the Security Councils from member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) have jointly urged Kabul to diligently uphold its responsibilities in combating international terrorist organizations, particularly those operating from Afghanistan and posing significant threats to SCO nations, the press service of the Russian Security Council office reported.
During the meeting, which covered various topics, including the situation in Afghanistan, the heads of delegations emphasized the importance of Afghanistan's consistent efforts in combating terrorism. They specifically urged the de facto authorities in Afghanistan to fulfill their obligations, particularly in suppressing the activities of international terrorist organizations and other groups operating from Afghan territory, which pose a grave threat to the SCO region, as stated in the press release.
The Russian delegation, led by Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, participated in the meeting.
