Trade between Tatarstan and Kazakhstan may grow to $1 billion in the coming years

Kazakhstan and Tatarstan may increase trade turnover up to $1 billion, which amounted to more than $440 million for 9 months of 2021, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov said at the meeting with President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov on Monday.


"We have a great potential in cooperation and I am sure that in the coming years we can increase our trade turnover up to one billion dollars," the press service of the president of Tatarstan quoted Smailov as saying. The Kazakh premier also offered to intensify business missions.


Minnikhanov noted that Kazakhstan is one of the leading foreign partners of Tatarstan. "In the 9 months of 2021 Tatarstan-Kazakhstan trade turnover amounted to $441 million. There are many opportunities for cooperation, in energy, industry, gas motor fuel, agriculture and petrochemistry," the press service quotes the head of Tatarstan.


Minnikhanov reminded that Kostanai (Kazakhstan) is building factories for the production of cast iron and components for Kamaz trucks' axles. In Karaganda region started the construction of tire production joint venture "Tatneft" and the "Allure" Group of companies.


It is noted that the General Director of "Tatneft" and General Director of "Kamaz" during the meeting reported on the projects implemented in Kazakhstan, and discussed the prospects for further joint projects.


President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov is on a working visit to Kazakhstan.
