Uzbekistan Doubles Construction Material Exports as Russia Remains Key Market

27 January

Uzbekistan’s construction material exports surged in 2025, more than doubling to reach $1.2 billion, with Russia maintaining its position as one of the republic's primary export destinations, the Russian Trade Representation in Uzbekistan reported.

"Uzbekistan is rapidly increasing its construction material exports, and Russia remains among the key markets," the trade office reported. "By the end of 2025, exports of building materials from Uzbekistan hit $1.2 billion, a 142% increase compared to the previous year."

The growth trend is expected to continue into 2026, with 437 projects valued at $3.6 billion slated for implementation within the sector. Trade officials noted that this expansion creates significant opportunities for deepening industrial cooperation and increasing supply volumes between the two nations.

General trade figures highlight the strengthening economic ties between the countries. In 2025, Uzbekistan’s total foreign trade turnover with Russia grew by 8.5%, reaching nearly $13 billion. Russia remains the top destination for Uzbek exports, which saw a 20% year-on-year increase to hit $4.3 billion in goods and services last year.
