The all-Russian public organization “Union of Muslim Women of Russia” was officially created on April 26, 2012 at the first congress of Muslim women of Russia in Moscow. Considering the period of revival of Islamic values and the increase in the number of active religious women, the need for this kind of organization arose.
The main goals of creating the Union of Muslim Women of Russia are:
- consolidation and activation of Muslim women in the public, social, cultural life of the Russian Federation and beyond.
- formation of the moral foundations of society in order to increase the role of motherhood, the level of upbringing, and education of the younger generation.
- strengthening the family and increasing the role of the family in all spheres of society. Muslim women in Russia have always shown an active life position in spreading spiritual values, peace and harmony.
The Union of Muslim Women of Russia is called upon to solve the problems of modern Muslim women, support and develop family ideology, promote the development of Islamic values, and establish interethnic and interfaith dialogue. Thus, Muslim women, along with men, are active members of the Muslim community and contribute to the development of spirituality, creativity and enlightenment.
The largest project of the Union of Muslim Women of the Russia can be called the opening of the International Center for Creating and Preserving a Family. This center began its activities on May 15, 2010, and is in demand today. More than 3,000 thousand people have created families thanks to the active work of specialists.
Another significant project of the organization is the revival of the Institute of Muslim Mentors. Muslim mentors (Abystai - Tat.) are authoritative women in society whose opinions are listened to.
Forums of mentors are regularly held in Kazan with the support of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The next direction that the Union of Muslim Women is implementing is the organization of festivals, shows, and competitions of Muslim clothing. The project was developed for the first time in Russia, and implementation began in 2008. Since that time, they have helped many Russian women get a start in life, who became famous clothing designers, opened sewing workshops, shops, and boutiques.
On February 1, Hijab Day is celebrated all over the world. Muslim women in Russia hold the International Hijab Day, where they present new collections of Muslim clothing, introduce new names in the world of Muslim fashion, give gifts to participants, and conduct intellectual games.
Charity occupies a special place in the activities of the Muslim Women's Union. Several times a year, the Organization holds charity events with the distribution of new children's clothing from the “Tacro” brand to large and low-income families throughout Russia, and also visits orphanages with gifts. In addition, members of the Union of Muslim Women of the Russian Federation collected humanitarian aid for children affected by the earthquake in Turkey, children of Palestine, provided assistance to families affected by floods in the Orenburg region, sent assistance to an orphanage in the Lugansk region, etc. This is a list of just some of the actions.
Annually, final events are held, awarding diplomas to active Muslim women of the country, who receive the status of “ Abystai of the Year”, “Culinarian of the Year”, “Preacher of the Year”, “Patron of the Year”, “Muslim Clothing Designer of the Year”, “Journalist of the Year”, etc.
