From 26 to 28 July, the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic hosted the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference entitled Islam on Civic Duty and Patriotism. The venue was the republican madrasah boarding school of the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic with the assistance of the Foundation for the Support of Islamic Culture, Science and Education. The conference was attended by 120 people from over 30 regions of Russia.
The plenary session of the conference discussed the mechanisms of effective formation of spiritual, moral and cultural values of the peoples of the Russian federation. This has become especially relevant in the light of the current geopolitical situation.
The plenary session was attended by many dignitaries, including Anatoly Vylegzhanin, deputy head of the Department of Internal Policy of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, Khyzyr Chekkuyev, deputy chairman of the government of the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic, Artur Suleimanov, rector of the Russian Islamic University in Ufa, Renat Islyamov, vice-rector of Moscow Islamic Institute for Scientific Work, Farkhat Khusnutdinov, rector of the Bolgarian Islamic Academy named after Imam Abu-Khanif, Sharabuttin Chochayev, rector of the North Caucasus Islamic Academy, as well as representatives of religious and public organizations and state and municipal authorities.
Khyzyr Chekkuyev welcomed all those present on behalf of Head of Karachay-Cherkessia Rashid Temrezov, and noted that their republic is an amazing land with rich history and unique culture. He stressed that Islam and Orthodoxy play an important role in the life of the local population and support the strengthening of interethnic peace and harmony.
Special attention was paid to discussing civic duty and patriotism in the context of Islamic culture. The conference participants shared their experience and knowledge at a roundtable discussion entitled Love for the Motherland – Part of Your Heart. At this event, they discussed the importance of these values for society and their role in fostering harmonious relations in society.
The diversity of speakers and topical discussions made a significant contribution to understanding how Islam can serve as the basis for the development of patriotism and civic duty. Representatives of religious and public organizations, as well as governmental structures and scientific institutions managed to exchange experience and pass on valuable knowledge to their colleagues. The participants highly appreciated the significance of the support from the Foundation for the Support of Islamic Culture, Science and Education, which contributed to the successful organization of the event.
The All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference became an excellent platform for sharing experience, finding solutions and establishing partnership between different associations and religious organizations. It also confirmed the importance of cooperation and dialogue between cultural and religious groups to maintain peace and harmony in society.
The event ended with positive feedback from the participants, who recognized it as successful and useful for further research and practice in the field of civic duty, patriotism and spiritual values in the context of Islam.
Thus, the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference, Islam on Civic Duty and Patriotism”, became a landmark event that contributed to the development of cooperation and strengthening of mutual understanding between different cultural and religious groups, as well as contributed to the expansion of knowledge among researches in the field of Islamic culture and its relationship to civic duty and patriotism.
