Space rocket system "Baiterek," created jointly with Russia, will make Kazakhstan a world space power. This is stated in an article by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, "Russia and Kazakhstan: cooperation without borders," published in the "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" on Tuesday.
"Especially important joint projects are of strategic importance," the publication said. - "In the sphere of near-Earth space exploration, we are talking about the creation of the national space program 'Baiterek,' which will open the way for Kazakhstan to join the club of world space powers."
As Lavrov pointed out, according to the plan in 2023 there will be launches of Russian advanced medium-class carrier rocket Soyuz-5 from Baikonur cosmodrome. "Work in this direction will contribute to the emergence of new knowledge-intensive clusters in the country with the associated cumulative effect on the economy and the social sphere," said the Minister.
He also noted that "against the background of acceleration of scientific and technological progress Russian-Kazakhstani relations are oriented to modernization and unification of production capacities, exchange of high technology products, increase of the share of non-resource goods and products with high added value in the commodity turnover. "Much is being done "on the rails" of direct industrial cooperation, including through the military-industrial complex. Such "horizontal" ties are a valuable asset of our allied relations," said the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
