Lavrov to Participate in "Primakov Readings" on June 26

19 June

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will speak at the 10th international scientific and expert forum "Primakov Readings" on June 26, as announced by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova during a briefing.

"On June 26, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will participate in the 10th international scientific and expert forum 'Primakov Readings.' This year's forum is dedicated to the memory of the distinguished politician, public figure, diplomat, and scholar Yevgeny Maksimovich Primakov," stated Zakharova.

She explained that during his speech, Lavrov will present Russia's perspective on major global development trends and clarify current aspects of Russia's foreign policy. "The 'Primakov Readings' have been held annually since 2015 and are now one of the recognized international platforms for discussing global politics, security, and economics. Traditionally, prominent Russian and foreign politicians, scholars, diplomats, journalists, and members of the scientific and expert community are invited to participate. The theme of this year's meeting, 'Russia in the Global Context,' is timely and provides a broad field for discussion," she added.

Zakharova also noted that this year's event is particularly significant as it is being held ahead of the 95th anniversary of Primakov's birth. "His contributions to advancing Russian interests on the global stage, as well as his insights and predictions regarding geopolitical processes, are truly invaluable," she said.
