Palestine is a country that gave the world many prophets, witnessed the birth of world religions and spread peace even to the remotest corners of our immense planet. It is the history, culture and rich customs of this country that was decided to dedicate a new exhibition, which is held in Kazan within the walls of the House of Friendship of the Peoples of Tatarstan.
The exhibition ‘Palestine through the Eyes of Russian Artists’ gathered the works of about 50 artists working in different genres. Each stroke in a picture, the smallest detail vividly and colorfully convey the atmosphere of the Palestinian land, introduce the viewer to the centuries-old culture and the hard history of the country. Among the participants of the exhibition there are masters from different regions and cities of Russia: Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Chuvashia, Mari El, Vologda and Kirov regions, Khakassia, St Petersburg, Moscow, Yaroslavl and Kirovo-Chepetsk.
According to Irek Sharipov, Director of the House of Friendship of Tatarstan, the exhibition is a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the millennial history of the Palestinian land through art: ‘This is the history of humanity, the Promised Land. I think that today, coming into contact with this art, representatives of this nation, this state, we will discover new facets of our own history as well’.
The organizer and inspirer of the exhibition, Al Balawi Bassam Fathi, President of the Chuvash-Palestinian Friendship and Cooperation Society, Academician of the Europe-Asia International Humanitarian Academy, Doctor of Law, also made a speech. The representative of the Palestinian people of Russia highlighted that it is the first time in the history of culture that such an exhibition, which reflects the history, culture and traditions of Palestine, is opened in Russia.
‘All religions and prophets were born in Palestine. This country gave the world peace and has always treated all the peoples and pilgrims warmly. This is a holy land. We are all people whose blood is of the same color. We experience all the feelings in the same way, regardless of our nationality, religion and citizenship’.
In the end, Al Balawi Bassam Fathi wished everybody to compete only in science, art, sports, medicine, not war. ‘Palestine today sends a message of peace, love, friendship, mutual understanding and harmony’, he added.
