Azerbaijan has no territorial claims against Armenia, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said on Thursday at an enlarged meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, commenting on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's reaction to his words about a corridor through Armenia, which, according to plans of Baku, should connect the main part of Azerbaijan with the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic.
After the main part of the meeting, Aliyev and Pashinyan exchanged remarks on the settlement of relations between the two countries and the status of Nagorno-Karabakh.
"I want to say that we have no such [territorial] claims [against Armenia]. <...> As for the word 'corridor', which I used, in the same way I used [it] with regard to the North-South corridor, in the same way this word is used with regard to the East-West corridor. The name 'corridor' is in no way an encroachment on anyone's territory. It is an international term," he said.
