Aliyev: Stability in South Caucasus Hinges on Cooperation Between Moscow and Baku

19 August

Stability and security in the South Caucasus region are heavily dependent on the cooperation between Baku and Moscow, according to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. He made this statement following discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"The stability and security of the entire South Caucasus region largely depend on close interaction between Russia and Azerbaijan," Aliyev emphasized.

He further explained that regional security issues were thoroughly examined during their narrow-format meeting. "A completely new situation has emerged in the region since last September, with Azerbaijan fully restoring its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Naturally, this new situation creates new opportunities for establishing lasting and long-term peace in the South Caucasus," Aliyev added.
