Azerbaijan and Armenia agree on ceasefire - media

13 September 2022

Azerbaijan and Armenia have agreed on a ceasefire in the border areas, Trend local news agency  reported on Tuesday, citing sources.

"After retaliatory measures taken by the Armed forces of Azerbaijan, the sides agreed on a ceasefire from 09:00 local time (08:00 Moscow time). At the same time, the Armenian side violated this agreement, but from 09:15 (08:15 Moscow time) the ceasefire was still established," the publication reported.

On Tuesday night, the Azerbaijani defense ministry claimed that the Armenian armed forces held a large-scale sabotage on the border between the two countries, mined areas between the positions of Azerbaijani army units and supply roads. As a result of the "urgent measures taken by the Azerbaijani military to immediately prevent these acts, there was a clash," the ministry said.
