"Beirut" word using candles was laid at the building of the Embassy of Lebanon in Moscow

07 August 2020

People expressing their condolences to the families of victims of the explosion in the port of Beirut laid out the name of the Lebanese capital with candles on Friday outside the country's Embassy in Moscow, a TASS correspondent reports.

The "Beirut" word, made up of scarlet candles, is placed next to flowers, notes of support and children's drawings that appeared the day after the tragedy. Among the drawings is a reproduction of the iconic Beirut graffiti with the image of a white dove grabbing the flag of Lebanon.

The Embassy continues the three-day mourning period announced on August 5.
