Russian Presidential Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov discussed the situation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone with Egyptian Ambassador to Moscow Nazih el Nagari. Sudan and Libya were also on the agenda.
"During the meeting, there was an exchange of views on a wide range of Middle East issues, with a focus on the situation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone, Sudan, and Libya," the Russian foreign ministry said in a statement.
The ministry noted that the sides also discussed "some practical aspects of Russian-Egyptian cooperation, including maintaining an active political dialogue."
In a separate meeting with Iraqi Ambassador to Moscow Kahtan Taha Khalaf al-Janabi, Bogdanov discussed the situation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone.
"During the conversation, there was a thorough exchange of views on key aspects of the Middle East agenda, with a focus on the situation in and around Iraq, as well as the development of the situation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone," the diplomatic department pointed out.
The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that during the conversation, priority issues of further strengthening traditionally friendly Russian-Iraqi relations were discussed, including maintaining an active political dialogue and enhancing mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation.
The meeting was held at the initiative of the Iraqi diplomat.
