Breakthrough Agreement: Palestinians in Israeli Prisons to be Exchanged for 100 Hamas Hostages

10 November 2023

The conflicting parties in the Gaza Strip have reportedly reached an agreement to exchange Palestinian women and teenagers held in Israeli prisons for 100 women and children held by the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, as reported by the Al Hadath TV channel.

However, the agreement does not specify a timeframe for its implementation, nor does it mention the involvement of any mediators in reaching this exchange agreement.

According to the Israeli side, more than 200 individuals, including Israel Defense Forces soldiers and foreign nationals, are currently being held captive by Palestinian groups in the Gaza Strip. Hamas politburo Head Ismail Haniyeh previously stated that, based on his information, approximately 6,000 Palestinians, including teenagers and women, are presently held in Israeli prisons.
