The leaders of BRICS member states have officially adopted the Kazan Declaration, which summarizes the outcomes of the summit and Russia's presidency in the group. Russian President Vladimir Putin, as the host of the summit, announced the approval of the document.
“Are there any objections or comments regarding this declaration?” Putin asked his counterparts following the broader session. “If not, I propose we consider the declaration adopted.”
Putin also emphasized that the declaration will be disseminated as a unified document of the BRICS nations, marking a shared accomplishment. The Russian leader noted that the declaration includes a comprehensive assessment of global affairs, outlines the achievements of Russia’s chairmanship, and sets long-term goals for future collaboration.
While the full text of the declaration has not yet been published, Putin had previously stated that it would cover decisions related to the further expansion of BRICS, along with other international issues. The Kremlin had earlier confirmed that a consensus on the wording of the Ukrainian crisis was reached, which “raised no objections” from the member states.
