Russian Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters are used in the peacekeeping operation in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Defense Ministry said.

Eight helicopters have already arrived at the airfield in Yerevan.

"The helicopters will be used <...> for air monitoring of ceasefire and military operations control areas", the report says.

Besides, they will deliver the personnel and equipment of the peacekeeping contingent to hard-to-reach areas.

Earlier, the General Staff reported that 414 Russian peacekeepers and several dozens of cars and other vehicles, as well as eight helicopters and drones, were transferred to Nagorno-Karabakh in a day.

In total, the group is to consist of 1960 servicemen with small arms, 90 armored personnel carriers, 380 cars and other equipment.

On the night of November 10, Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in Nagorno-Karabakh. It says the Azerbaijani and Armenian military stops at occupied positions and exchanges prisoners.

Armenia must return the Kelbajar, Lachin and Agdam districts to Baku. Russian peacekeepers will also be stationed in Karabakh.

The agreement was called the capitulation of Yerevan in Baku. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that the decision was extremely hard for him but that it preserved what Karabakh would have lost. After his speech, protests started in the Armenian capital.
