Iran's possible response to recent sabotage on the territory of the republic could provoke increased tension in the region, Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, head of the CSTO Joint Staff, said at a press conference on Tuesday.
"Strikes, including drone strikes, as well as sabotage at Iran's military and infrastructure facilities at the end of January this year are likely to provoke Iran's retaliation, which could lead to increased tension in the region," he said.
On January 29, IRNA reported that a large explosion took place in the city of Isfahan, located in central Iran. Later, the country's defense ministry said that there was a failed attack on one of the ministry's centers using drones. According to the ministry, one drone was shot down, the other two were trapped and exploded. No one was injured as a result of the attack, and there was minor property damage. The statement did not specify who Tehran considered to be involved in the attack.
