CSTO Challenges and Threats Addressed in Almaty Meeting

Participants of the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) convened in Almaty to discuss measures to neutralize challenges and threats to the organization's security. This information was provided by the press service of the Russian Federation Security Council.

 

"A meeting of the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization was held in Almaty. Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Sergei Shoigu, participated in the discussions. The focus was on the situation within the CSTO area of responsibility and on measures to neutralize challenges and threats to the security of the Collective Security Treaty Organization,” stated the press service.

 

The discussions placed special emphasis on several key areas: strengthening the Tajik-Afghan border, enhancing cooperation in biological security, improving countermeasures in military, anti-terrorism, migration and information space.
