The international coalition in Syria was warned in advance about the passage of a column of Russian military police, said chief of the General staff of the Russian Armed forces Valery Gerasimov in a telephone conversation with the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff of the US armed forces Mark Mill.
"Despite this, in violation of existing agreements, US military personnel attempted to block the Russian patrol. In response, the military police of the Armed forces of the Russian Federation took the necessary measures to prevent the incident and further fulfill the task, " the Defense Ministry said in a release.
The Ministry stressed that the American side has received "exhaustive explanations" about the incident.
Earlier, a representative of the US national security council accused the Russian military of violating the rules of conflict prevention in Syria: according to him, their car crashed into an armored car of the coalition, which led to injuries to the crew members who were in it.
This is not the first time that US military personnel want to interfere with the movement of a Russian patrol in Syria. So, in early June, in the village of Abra, about 50 kilometers from Haseke, an M1235 MRAP armored car tried to block the path of the military, but steam suddenly poured out of it, and the car stalled. The Russians continued to follow the route.
