The Turkish defense ministry reported following inspection of the dry cargo ship Razoni on Wednesday that it was allowed to pass through the Bosphorus Strait.
"The inspection of the joint inspection team has been completed. The Razoni dry cargo ship carrying 27,000 tons of corn to Lebanon will soon enter the Bosporus," the ministry said in a statement.
Representatives of Istanbul's Joint Coordination Center (JCC) on Wednesday conducted the 1.5-hour inspection of a dry cargo ship carrying Ukrainian grain, which dropped anchor near the Bosphorus Strait.
The source also said that several vessels with grain may leave Ukrainian ports on a daily basis. "Two or three ships a day are possible," he said.
There is no official confirmation of this information yet.
The source said that a vessel with Ukrainian grain will arrive at the Lebanese port on Saturday. "Shipping from Istanbul to Tripoli usually takes three or three and a half days, unless weather conditions interfere," he pointed out. - "If a dry cargo ship leaves the Bosporus on Wednesday, it should arrive on Saturday afternoon."
The source noted that "the port authorities have taken all the necessary measures to receive the ships with agricultural products, which will go through the humanitarian corridor from the ports of the Black Sea."
Later, it became known that the Razoni freighter has dropped anchor near Istanbul and headed towards the Bosphorus.
A delegation of 20 representatives of Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and UN, members of the JCC, checked documents of the crew, documentation for the cargo being transported and inspected the dry cargo vessel.
The Sierra Leone-flagged cargo carrier Razoni, loaded with nearly 27,000 tons of corn, left the port of Odessa on Monday morning. It arrived at the anchorage near Saryer at 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
