Hamas Delegation Engages in Ceasefire Discussions with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister in Moscow

A delegation from the Palestinian Hamas movement, led by Mousa Abu Marzook, Head of the International Relations Bureau, recently held talks in Moscow with Mikhail Bogdanov, Special Representative of the Russian President for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Ministry. The Hamas movement shared details of the meeting in a statement posted on its Telegram channel.

 

"During the political consultations held, ways to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip in order to stop the aggression against the Palestinian people were discussed," the statement reads. Additionally, the position of Hamas concerning the file of prisoners held by resistance units was clarified.

 

The Hamas delegation "expressed appreciation for Russia's diplomatic efforts and acknowledged the official and popular humanitarian aid provided by Russia to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip."

 

Highlighting their concerns, the statement emphasized that "the criminal actions of the occupation authorities against the Palestinians constitute a serious threat to international peace and security."

 

The Hamas representatives "reiterated their stance on the rights of the Palestinian people, affirming their right to freedom and the return to their homes." Furthermore, they asserted the right to resist illegal occupation through all available means.
