Mohammed Takala, the head of Libya's High Council of State (HCS), appealed to the Russian Federation for assistance in addressing the aftermath of a severe flooding during a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Tripoli Aidar Aganin. This appeal was reported in an official message posted on the Russian Embassy in Tripoli's Telegram channel.
"On September 12 in Tripoli, Head of the High Council of State Mr. Takala received Russian Ambassador to Libya Mr. Aganin. During their meeting, Aganin conveyed his heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the head of the HCS and the Libyan people in light of the significant casualties resulting from the hurricane that struck northeastern Libya. Mr. Aganin expressed his hopes for a swift recovery for the disaster's victims. In response, Mr. Takala requested assistance from the Russian side, as Libya's own rescue services are struggling to manage the extensive destruction," the embassy reported.
