Houthis Claim Overnight UAV Strike on Tel Aviv

19 July

Yemen's Ansar Allah (Houthis) movement launched an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) strike on Tel Aviv on Friday night, according to the movement's military spokesman, Yahya Saree.

In a statement published on the Ansar Allah Telegram channel, Saree claimed that the Houthis conducted "a military operation targeting one of the important sites" in Tel Aviv. The attack involved a new UAV called the Jaffa, which they assert can evade enemy air defense systems.

The Houthis warned that Tel Aviv will no longer be "a safe territory" and will become their primary target within the range of their weapons. The movement has identified several targets in Israel, "including important military installations," and vowed to continue their strikes in response to Israel Defense Forces' actions in the Gaza Strip, according to the statement.

Earlier, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported an explosion in central Tel Aviv during the night, caused by the fall of an aerial target, though no alarm was raised. According to The Jerusalem Post, the explosion resulted in one fatality and seven injuries.
