Iran has conveyed its stance that it does not plan to initiate a military conflict with Israel amid the growing tensions in the Middle East. However, Iran has emphasized that it would only consider military action in response to an attack by Israel. This information was provided by Iran's permanent mission to the United Nations, as reported by Reuters.
"Iran's armed forces will refrain from initiating any hostilities unless the apartheid Israeli regime dares to attack Iran, its interests, or its citizens. In such a scenario, the resistance forces will have the capability to defend themselves," stated the diplomats.
On Sunday, during a meeting with Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in Doha, Iranian Foreign Minister Hosein Amir Abdollahian expressed concerns that if Israel continues its strikes on civilians in the Gaza Strip, the conflict's scope could expand. In a subsequent interview with the Al Jazeera TV channel, he mentioned that Iran had conveyed a warning to Israel through intermediaries, urging them to refrain from further shelling of the Palestinian enclave.
